Development Director
Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Inc. (CDM) seeks a Development Director to join its dynamic, binational team of migrant workers’ rights advocates. This is a unique opportunity to craft powerful, compelling narratives to inspire CDM allies, supporters, and funders to take action. The Development Director will oversee CDM’s fundraising strategy and all development efforts, including individual donor and grant-based funding. We have a strong preference for the Development Director position to be based out of the Maryland-Washington, D.C. area, but are open to considering compelling candidates based in other areas of the U.S. and Mexico. This role will require travel up to 15% of the time.
Internships
CDM offers a robust, year-round internship program to law students and others interested in gaining hands-on experience with our work. Learn how to apply, and meet some of our former volunteers!
CDM interns have the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of our work, whether legal and policy, outreach and education, or development and communications. Due to the demands of the program, we request that interns commit to spending 10 weeks, full-time. Part-time and shorter-term may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Interns may be based in CDM’s Mexico City or Baltimore offices, or in appropriate cases may work remotely.
Fellowships
CDM seeks applicants to be sponsored for post-law school, externally-funded, legal fellowships to be based out of our Mexico City or Baltimore offices. Legal fellows join a dynamic binational team of advocates that promote the labor rights of low-wage migrant workers using traditional legal and policy tools alongside community education and empowerment. We are especially interested in supporting fellowship applications that use a mix of legal and community-based tools to advance migrant justice. CDM has hosted fellows funded by Skadden, Justice Catalyst, Fulbright, and academic institutions; we are also open to considering sponsorship of Equal Justice Works applications.
Volunteering
CDM welcomes volunteers who wish to donate their time and talent to advance justice alongside migrant workers. For more information on volunteering opportunities email us at info@cdmigrante.org
