{"id":661,"date":"2025-02-18T18:20:17","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T18:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=661"},"modified":"2025-06-04T20:08:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T20:08:46","slug":"huge-win-for-migrant-and-immigrant-workers","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/es\/news\/huge-win-for-migrant-and-immigrant-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Huge win for migrant and immigrant workers!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the&nbsp;<strong>Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced an&nbsp;immigration relief policy&nbsp;for migrant and immigrant workers who face abuse and defend their workplace rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This policy will&nbsp;<strong>empower workers to speak out and take action against exploitative employers<\/strong>&nbsp;by providing them temporary immigration protections and permission to work in the US when raising their voice against unsafe and unfair working conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is a victory worth celebrating!<\/strong>&nbsp;Migrant and immigrant workers have long demanded these protections and CDM&nbsp;has supported those demands since its foundation&nbsp;in 2005.&nbsp;<strong>We applaud the agency for taking a step forward in strengthening protections for migrant and immigrant workers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This policy is one&nbsp;key step towards empowering workers&nbsp;to hold abusive employers accountable.<\/strong>&nbsp;Our government can do so much more to ensure migrant workers can leave abusive employers and take action to improve their working conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At CDM, we will continue to advocate for those changes,&nbsp;but t<strong>oday we celebrate&nbsp;with migrant and immigrant workers<\/strong>, allied organizations, and with you, who have supported us and encouraged us throughout the last 17 years.&nbsp;<strong>You are a huge part of this success.<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":662,"template":"","class_list":["post-661","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/661","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/662"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/cdm.lebuinco.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=661"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
